If you are like us here at Komfort Kitchens, we are not really that talented in keeping plants happy, or even alive. However, we love to use fresh basil when we cook. So, we found hydroponic basil at the local grocery store for under $4. There is no need to plant it or get any soil, all you need to do it place it in a cup or mug and cover the roots with water. It is best if you leave it in a sunny area in the kitchen too. We have had this basil for over two months now and it is still happy, healthy and producing more leaves for us to use! You do need to pay attention to the water level though daily, as the plant soaks up all the water in a day or two. Good luck and happy cooking!
